Springtime at Furness Abbey
The extensive ruins of Furness Abbey are well worth a visit if you are visiting the Lake District area, especially when the daffodils are in flower.

If you look closely you can just about make out the first swallow of the year!
During the preparation for some restoration work, the undisturbed grave of a former Abbot was discovered.
A medieval crozier and jewelled ring were discovered in the grave. The items are being carbon dated to establish when the Abbot died.
